Blood Sisters: Lai Mohammed asks Netflix, others to invest in Nigeria or face sanctions
Information minister Lai Mohammed on Sunday said streaming platforms should expand their business in Nigeria if they want to remain in the country. Mr Mohammed’s statement comes as Nigeria’s new series ‘Blood Sisters’ draws widespread acclaim on the Netflix platform. Netflix, Amazon and other streaming services have gained increased popularity among Nigeria’s roughly 200 million people, although the companies have yet to grow their business activities to the government’s satisfaction. A spokesperson for Netflix and Amazon did not immediately return a request on Sunday.
